There is a new kiwi driver on the roads here! Dan has just started going out and about and I've been nominated the 'instructor'!! We started off in a carpark going round and round and have now progressed to the wide open roads. I haven't been brave enough to take him into town yet!!!
Well, it's getting colder. The temp has dipped below 10C! We've been busy stacking some fire wood (this is two rows deep!) ready for those toastie evenings! Oh and I nearly set the house on fire! Got up one morning cleaned the ashes out from the previous nights fire. Then took the dogs for a 1 hour walk. Came back via the back garden and smelt burning...! Now I have a shiny metal bucket for the ashes to cool in!! Before I get rid of them!
Dan spent the afternoon at his friends riding. They run a small Stud and this is their latest foal 'Heartbreakin Eloquence' Ellie for short. She is 5 months old.
This is Ellie and her mum...
This is her dad (file pic!)
They have several mares in foal so hopefully a few pics later in the year!
Earthrace is a 24m (78ft) tri-hull wavepiercer. She was visiting Napier as part of a Tour around NZ and was open to visitors!
In June 2008 Earthrace set a new world record for a powerboat to circle the globe, and she did this with 100% renewable biodiesel fuel, and a net zero carbon footprint. The voyage was over 24,000 nautical miles, and took 60 days, 23 hours and 49 minutes, smashing the old record by over two weeks. It goes without saying that the above pictures were not snapped by me using my little digital 6.0 mega pixel camera.!!! These however were!
