Trip back to NZ....

Eventually our trip back to the UK had to come to and end, and we headed to Heathrow to start the long journey home.

Our first flight was on a Singapore Air A380, the double decker plane. It's weird sitting in the main deck (as they call it!) knowing that above you are loads more seated passengers in the upper deck. During the long 13hour flight I did a couple of laps of the plane, by going up the spiral staircase at the back and around and down again! It is a mahoosive plane, 10 seats wide down the back!

Some maybe interesting facts about our various plane trips....

We have taken 6 flights....
We have eaten 24 airplane meals (between us!)....
We have spent 50 hrs (Approx) up in the air....
We have travelled 38,000 ks (Approx)....
38,000 ks is equal to 58ish road trips London to Scotland!

Yummmmmm! Another square meal!! and nearly arrived at Singapore!

And we visited the Butterfly Garden...



And saw loads of different varieties...




And we saw the worlds largest....(so it says!)



Singapore to Auckland.... nearly back!

Week 4 - UK Visit...

One of the last things we did was visit Thorpe Park with friends! The kids managed to get a ride on all 11 of the 'EXTREME Thrills' rides and a few of the other not so 'extreme' rides..!

Some pitcures and a little bit (cut'n'paste!) about some of the rides...

SAW - The Ride the world’s first ever horror movie-themed rollercoaster is the most terrifying ride in the world, testing the nerve of all who dare ride as it leaves you at the mercy of the film's master manipulator, Jigsaw. Face Your Fears with a 'beyond vertical' drop of 100º from a terrifying height of 100ft, and endure three inversions adding another dimension to a whole new experience of adrenaline-fuelled fun for thrill seekers. You can just make out Dan's red hoodie on the back row!



DETONATOR - Slow Ride to the top and then when released is an extreme 45mph drop that pulls 5.5G's



STEALTH - Europe's Fastest Rollercoaster ride. Nothing sneaks up on you as quickly as the extreme thrill of going 0-80mph in under 2 seconds to a staggering 205 feet!



SAMURAI - On this ride you spin relentlessly through 360 degrees of stomach-churning terror, as Samurai slices and dices through the air reaching brutal forces of up to 5G's! (You can see the SAW ride in the background with it's vertical drop!)



SLAMMER - The extreme G forces mess with your mind as you're propelled 105 feet into the sky, then slammed back down to earth into a full throttle free fall on this giant human fly-swat!



TIDAL WAVE - No chance of getting off this ride dry! Here you experiencing a heart-stopping 85ft plunge into the blue, producing the tallest wall of water this side of a squally North Sea.



At the end of the day the kids were very wet!

And then the best ride of all..... The slow journey home on the M25, and M4!!!

Week 3 - UK Visit...

Louise at Hollywood Bowl...



We went to London to do some shopping, and Louise wanted to go to Kings Cross to find Platform 9 3/4!!

Shortly after I took these, there was a PA announcement saying 'flash photography is forbidden on the London Under ground'.. We made a quick exit...

Week 2 - UK Visit...

We went to Windsor to do some shopping and decided to see if the Queen was in!
