MR2 Update: A set back!

Just when they thought that the car would be on the road soon, they've found that the head gasket has blown.

Trip to Taupo..

Went on a Shopping trip to Taupo, a bus load of us! Nice day out over the Kaweka Ranges. The road winds up and over the ranges with fantastic scenery, can't really put it into words, but loads of valleys, native bush, waterfalls and fast flowing streams/rivers rush by..

Once in Taupo we stopped by the marina for a coffee and then headed off to the shops.

An 1hour into our return trip disaster....! The bus suffered a rear wheel blowout on one of the inside tyres! I just happened to be sitting above the wheel! OMG what a noise!


With no cell phone coverage and no local houses the bus crawled along the highway until we found a highway break stop. Eventually a tyre recovery vehicle arrived and replaced the blown tyre.


Then we were off on the road back to Napier. Arriving back home 2.5 hrs later than scheduled...
